"Il Ras del Quartiere" is a 1983 film directed by Carlo Vanzina, starring Diego Abatantuono and Isabella Ferrari: a successful combination of American action and Italian comedy that is now considered a cult classic among fans. The movie soundtrack, which has never been officially released to this day, was entrusted to Goblin, who wrote four original tracks - composed by Fabio Pignatelli and Marco Rinalduzzi - and recorded them at Trafalgar Recording Studios in Rome under the supervision of sound engineer Gaetano Ria. The music is an excellent fusion of rock and electronic sounds, at times reminiscent of the Alan Parsons Project; although at times quite different from the typical Goblin sound of the 1970s, the group's distinctive style is perfectly recognizable. Several aspects make this release one of it's kind, starting with the direct involvement of Fabio Pignatelli himself, who personally remixed all four tracks on this LP. The album displays a brand-new look, with a gatefold cover accompanied by illustrations inspired by selected film scenes and exclusively created in collaboration with Scuola Romana del Fumetto, a comic book art school in Rome; inside, a 60x30cm insert features in-depth notes by Fabio Capuzzo on the genesis of the film and it's soundtrack, as well as contributions from Fabio Pignatelli and Enrico Vanzina, brother of the late Carlo, who co-wrote the film's story and screenplay at the time. First LP edition ever on clear lilac vinyl. Gatefold cover with 60x30cm insert.
